Silicon Alley Inc. DBA SoftSell F&I (“SoftSell,” “SoftSell F&I,” “SoftSell F and I,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our websites and the SoftSell F&I sales-presentation platform (the “Service”), how we use and share it, your choices, and how to contact us. This policy applies to dealership administrators, sales reps, and any visitors to our marketing pages. It is written to align with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Virginia CDPA, the Colorado Privacy Act, and other applicable U.S. state privacy laws, and to align with common SaaS industry standards.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account information: dealership name, admin and sales rep names, email addresses, hashed passwords, role (admin/rep), tier and subscription status.
- Billing information: last four digits of payment card, billing zip code, plan tier and cadence, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Full payment-card data is processed by our payment processor (Stripe) and never stored on our servers.
- Deal and presentation data: Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), vehicle make, model, year, trim, and finance terms (sale price, down payment, APR, term, monthly payment) you enter when running a presentation; the customer-name field if you provide it; the products presented (VSC/GAP/Cosmetic) and the customer’s accept/decline outcome and any objections typed.
- Generated content: pre-recorded narration audio (English & Spanish) and pre-written objection-response transcripts. These are static assets we produced and reviewed in advance — they are not generated per-customer at presentation time and do not include any of your customer's personal information.
- Usage and device information: IP address, browser, operating system, pages accessed, timestamps, and basic event analytics. We use first-party cookies and similar technologies for authentication and analytics.
- Communications: emails you send us (e.g., support, sales) and emails we send you (transactional, retention/winback).
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, secure, and improve the Service.
- Process subscriptions and payments through Stripe.
- Deliver pre-recorded narration audio and pre-written objection-response transcripts to your dealership's active deal.
- Send transactional messages (account, billing, security, cancellation).
- Send retention messaging on the final day of access if a subscription is cancelled, focused on the operational and revenue impact of an inconsistent F&I process.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Sub-processors who help us operate the Service: cloud hosting (e.g., AWS / GCP), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and product analytics. All sub-processors are bound by data-protection agreements. Legacy on-demand text-to-speech features (used only by operators to preview new voice samples, not during customer presentations) may briefly transmit script text to a third-party AI provider; that text is the same scripted content shipped with the platform and never contains your customer's personal information.
- Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with continued protection of personal information.
- With your direction: e.g., when you choose to share content from the Service.
4. Pre-Recorded Content (No Real-Time AI)
The narration audio and objection-response transcripts you hear and read during a presentation are pre-recorded, pre-written content produced and reviewed by SoftSell in advance. We do not send your customer's name, vehicle, finance terms, or any free-text objection input to a third-party AI provider during the presentation. The platform serves the same audio files and transcripts to every dealership, in your chosen voice and language.
5. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use first-party cookies (and equivalent web-storage technology) to maintain your authenticated session and remember preferences. We use a small set of analytics cookies to understand product usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the Service.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
- Receive a portable copy of your personal information.
- Opt out of any “sale” or targeted advertising — we do not engage in these activities.
- Withdraw consent and object to certain processing.
To exercise these rights, please use our Contact Us page and select Support. We will respond within 45 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
7. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Deal data is retained for up to 24 months for analytics and reactivation purposes; you may request earlier deletion.
8. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (including TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access, and audit logging). No system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.
9. Children
The Service is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
10. International Users
The Service is operated in the United States and is intended for U.S. customers. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where reasonable, notified via in-app notice or email. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
